Employee Spotlight – Felicity Tabarez, Administrative Assistant
Felicity Tabarez, Administrative Assistant
Felicity Tabarez joined us one year ago, in June 2023. Felicity fills a highly challenging role at Heartland House, that of assisting the Executive Director and Program/Operations Manager in a wide range of responsibilities.
A native Californian and long-time San Diegan, Felicity brings higher education and relevant experience to her job at the House. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Health Policy from UC Irvine and has served in positions in healthcare administration and COVID-19 tracing as well as working directly with the clients of a homeless shelter. Her public health background, combined with her administrative acumen allow Felicity to assist in a variety of projects, manage personnel, create policies and procedures, and oversee and edit contracts, all while handling the filing, correspondence and other office tasks in her job description.
When asked what she likes about working at the House, Felicity replied that our facility’s practice of non-timebound treatment attracted her to us; and, in her words, “The staff are incredible here, everyone supports each other and treats one another like family. It shows with the clients here as well, a comfortable environment that makes a great safe space for them”.
Felicity is a valued member of our Heartland House family who supports the team in providing a recovery-conducive place. Felicity’s plans for the future include seeking a master’s degree in public health with an emphasis in behavioral health and community outreach. We look forward to seeing Felicity’s continued growth and contributions to the health of her community.
