News from the House – February 2022
Greetings, friends! As we approach the end of the second full year of the pandemic, our Heartland House team continues to perform our mission with high energy and unwavering persistence.
We are delighted to announce that the landscape and hardscape enhancements to our Froze House sober living facility are nearly finished and looking great. Later this year we’ll add an outdoor island for our barbecue grill, make, adding to the efficiency and comfort of the Froze House exterior. Key to the this project were two members of our Board of Directors: Director Rick Trepte provided the architectural renderings and the needed revisions, and Managing Director Joh Prendergast managed the improvements to their successful completion.
Next on our improvements list is our main facility, where we’re tackling the remodeling of the interior areas, most significantly the kitchen and bath. We’re receiving and assessing bids from contractors and are very close to go time!
On the administrative side, we have conducted a soft launch of our recently acquired Electronic Health Record System (EHR) and are delighted to announce that the system is meeting all expectations. The EHR provides robust record-keeping and robust Telehealth capabilities that allow our team to contact our clients in need quickly and with thorough client information that informs the care that the client receives. We will have more updates on this robust system as we implement it to its full capacity.
Our Heartland House staff is also continually improving themselves Hearty congratulations to Lafitte Banville, our Operations/Program Manager for earning his qualification as a Substance Use Disorder Certified Counselor II; and Bill McCarty for becoming a fully certified Case Manager.
Since the time of our last newsletter, we have welcomed these new counselor team members: Tiffany Bennet, Daniel Vanwaus and Miguel Rojas. Each of these individuals possesses unique talents that make the Heartland House staff the heart of our program.Â
And last but not least, here is the latest on our favorite celebration: The 2022 Heartland House Banquet will take place on Saturday, October 1 at the Bahia Resort on Mission Bay. We’ll post more information and be in touch with everyone as we firm up the details.
