News from the House November 2022

Greetings from our Heartland House team! With the holiday season fast approaching, we’re checking in with an update on what we’ve been up to at the House…..

For starters, thanks to everyone who made our 61st Anniversary Gala, held on October 1, a signal success. While celebrating our service to the San Diego region with music, laughter, and inspiring accounts of how the House achieves its mission, we raised $8,500.00 in funding for our Hand Up from the House program that assists men who have successfully completed our program to become productive members of society. Hand Up from the House helps these men with rent and other necessities as they seek employment and self-sufficiency.

And just as we were putting the finishing touches on our Gala preparations, construction was completed on our Main House Renovation Project. The major elements of this undertaking are the wheelchair accessible restroom and the updating of our kitchen into a highly efficient, versatile space for preparing nutritious meals for our clients and crew.
